Tyre age

Only just noticed my cars last set of tyres have 3320 build date.
I bought and fitted 43 2021.
So were already a year old when bought.

Thats a bit annoying, but id accept that. Likely just stored in a warehouse for a year, so unlikely to have any ill effects.

Camskill told me tyres can be sold up to 5 yrs old and are warranted for 10yrs for defects.

You would have thought a popular make and quick turnover of stock.
Or do likes of Camskill or Black circles buy old stock?
So discounted.
Should say they Goodyear Asy 5's. Bought 4 all same date.

I bought a pair of rear tyres for my Z4 last May and was disappointed to find when I got home they had a date code of 5122.

But I had left it a bit late as I was going on a trip to Scotland less than a week later so I didn't have many options, and I did get a good price!

Maybe 265/40 x 18 isn't a popular size? (I know it isn't OE size).

Well 2 new GY Asy 6 arrived, dated 0226. So new.

Oh dear just read EV ready, hope they are not hard or stiff.

Asy 2 has been the best tyre. Later tyres seem to have a harder core once the first few mill. worn off.
Probably to increase tyre life.
Jumped the gun a bit buying the 6, as still quite a bit of tread left after 20k miles.
