Tyre advice please

Guys,
Close to buying a Z4 (can't wait) and first task will be to take off the run flats. I've a couple of questions I hope you can help with.

(1) if I keep the 18' mv2s, what size spacesaver/tyre combo will work?

(2) really fancy 19's, but have no idea what spacesaver/tyre combo will work here.

I'm guessing I may be wasting everyone's time without being able to say what tyres will go on either the 18s or 19s, but any general advice would be appreciated. I'm clueless on the spacesaver + appropriate tyre heights piece for different sized wheels.

Cheers

The tyre set up is staggered as standard, with 225/40/18's on the front and 255/35/18's on the rear.

Most of us who go to Non-run flats dont carry a spare, just a can of tyre sealant, unless we're on a major trip (Europe for instance), when perhaps one of the party will carry a spare. The spare does need to be the smaller of the two sizes so as not to foul the arch/strut. You can put a front on the rear, but a rear wont fit on the front as it's too wide.

My theory is that I just want a tyre or means to get the car either to the garage or at least somewhere safe, where I can leave it on three wheels and then take the flat to be repaired or replaced. (I wouldn't want to leave a soft-top in some remote county location where its too easy to get into or may get vandalised.)

The boot is too small to carry a spare and a weeks luggage, so we either split the load and one carries a spare or you carry the Tyre Weld type stuff.

The choice of tyre depends on your budget, but most people run Vred's or Goodyear F1's I think.

Thanks for that - you're all really helpful here, really nice feel to the place. Is there a generally preferred / most effective sealant brand members like? Preferably a full kit - compressor and all.

Lastly, sell me your car. It's a bloody gem, and sitting on one of my favourite all-time wheels. Lucky sod
