Typical Yaris Driver

So has anyone actually driven a Yaris. Could do with a review of handling vs a Zed.

Shame the overtaking car was a BMW - nobody would ever have read this if the headline had been "Insignia/Mondeo/Avensis/Scenic/Zafira/C-Max/other POS caused wreck"..........!

It is hard to be sure, but my interpretation of the clip is that the overtaker doesn't seem to have chosen the best place or he took too long, but the Yaris driver does seem slow to react and then seems to over-react - and who the F:censored:K wears a headcam in a car, other than a Lycra warrior?

Shame about his car, but glad he seemed to be OK which is the crucial thing.

Only upside is that is one less "The car in front is a Toyota" as in getting in the f:censored:g way!

Not exactly relevant, but someone mentioned a reaction time of 2 to 2.5 seconds - when I sit behind a Yaris at traffic lights they don't seem to react to the green one for somewhere between 5 and 10 seconds (if they notice at all)! Mind you that may be because they are busy texting.............

One thing that nobody has picked up on is why the guy in the overtaken car was apologising.

Perhaps he was one of those cnuts that drives like miss daisy until you try to overtake :x

I am ashamed to say I've driven a Yaris for two days. They suspension rolls a lot on twisty roads as it is top heavy, due to the roof being reinforced.... Oh, and the brakes snatch

Hmmmmm maybe from the stills then he had to brake as hard as he did to avoid a head on, it just looked to me when looking at the video running at normal speed that although he braked hard the BMW would still have managed to pull in OK, so in fact the Yaris owner is a hero as he managed to avoid wiping out the BMW driver :)
At 0:12 there's no sign of a car in the same lane before the crest. At just after the 18s index there's a car in the same lane at the same sort of distance as the crest at 0:12s. That car has to be on-comming or traveling slowly, why in gods name did he wait until 20s, about 20.5s, to brake?
How do you know when he started to brake? Can you see his breaking foot? He may have had a gentle dab of the break at first as everybody here seems to suggest. Him screaming and skidding does not signal the start of his braking.
Engine noise, camera movement, car level, road markings…

My other half has owned and driven a Yaris for a number of years covering over 60,000 miles and it's still on all four wheels :)
I've driven it a number of times and find it relatively quick and capable car.
