Couple of things
the rod that locks the fuel flap when the cars locked has been broken since i bought the car, got a replacement motor/rod and never fitted it, so since i'm off for a week thought i'd do it today, for the e90 no bother to access it, http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=718505

for ours from what i can see it's a nightmare, it's behind that steel panel

how the hell do ya get at the thing, the motor is still actually working so really i could get away with just changing the rod if i had room to do it, can you get to this removing the rear wheel arch lining? and how much of a ballache is that?

other thing is, lowered the roof to check something and noticed this bit of trim sitting on my passanger seat, anyone know where it's from? it's just popped off from what i can tell and can't spot where from.

top man i'll pop it back in :D i was checking around the window seals/where the top locks into place etc

ah sound always forget about those service manuals!

lol nice to know i was on the right track without looking at it though too

I got mine for less than a tenner on ebay
part# 67118377426

although you can't see the end of the one in this auction

The fuel rod actuator has to be replaced by taking the rear wheel arch liner out, easier said than done as there are different screws and fixings, and a hidden one under the rear wheel splash guard. Be careful when you man handle it out as you can crease the wheel arch lip....
Once out you can get to the actuator that is held on by 2 screws.
I ended up replacing the rod with one off an E46, it's roughly the same size but fits on our actuator perfectly (and a fraction of the price) You have to cut the end down a little bit when it's in the locked position.
