Gave the Z a quick clean today along with my mate and his Mk1 Golf GTi! This has the MK2 1.8 engine in running 165bhp!

My second car was a 1981 X-reg Golf. It did 150k miles. Happy days when petrol was sold in gallons and didn't cost you your right arm.

Interesting that the Golf chosen for the project was a base model rather than a GTI or so. Must have taken some effort to get it to this.
