Two Beeps when I turn ignition on?

Occasionally I can hear two audible beeps when I turn the iginition on, I get no warning lights and nothing seems wrong. The handbook doesn't mention anything as far as I can see. It's a bit like the sound you get when you drive with the seat belt off.

It only happens very occasionally but it's got me curious, anyone know what this is?

Sorry, bit O/T but when should you get this? I move my car around the courtyard with no seatbelt on and get no beeps or warning lights.

I bet you pressed one of the buttons on the key when you turned the ignition.... I do that all the time and it scares the s**t out of me :D

It only happens after you drive a fair distance so if you only drive for a short time it won't happen

Maybe

I'll try pushing the button next time I start it to see if that's the noise, yes it scare me also.

I tried pushing the buttons on my key whilst starting the car but no beeping noises, so I've no idea why it sometimes does it?

Me neither - I very occasionally get the same. Similar to the cold weather or the service due beeping but it isn't that.

Pretty sure the two beeps at start up is something to do with the computer doing a self check routine. I don't think I've made this up, I recall it cropping up on the old Z4um.

Hope this helps.

This makes sense as my car isn't due oil or inspection for another 7,000 odd miles. I wish the manual mentioned it as these sort of unexpected noises concern me.

You have no lights indicators on the dash. Is there any lights on just above the shifter? How cold is it outside? You get beeps when the temp is below 37 degrees. When it beeps look at the dash where the time, mpg, temp, mile left in the tank information come up and see if it is beeping and flashing at you. I think this is not likely as we are in summer. Just a thought.

Definately nothing to do with cold weather

Sorry for digging up an old thread, but can anyone confirm this is the case?

I seem to get this beep about once a month. No service due & all fluids are topped up..

Seems a bit random for a warning tone!
