Two Beeps, occurring intermittently on startup

Thanks, ill check it out tomorrow, as is the best lead I've had so far

NB the air-con hot & cold works perfectly
 
How about your lights? Are they on auto?

I get two beeps, but at a different time, and it's due to the autolights, if I open the door before I turn the car off (to check kerb distance) then when I shut the engine off with the door open, the lights beep because they think they've been left on and I've got out. Then they auto off and all is well.

So maybe you've got lights coming in pre-engine turn on or something?

Yup, have auto lights but it's at the point the engine fires & then it beeps (sometimes but only at this point)

Maybe with this new BMW Genius bar I could ask them the question... I'll Google their phone number unless someone else has it.
 
Getting closer to a solution.

During startup, the car primarily performs two main checks of
- System Diagnostics (logged if there is a fault)
- Driver Audible Warnings (NOT logged, as meant to alert the driver)

This falls into the second group on start up and apparently the only things that will cause audible beeps are:
1. Unconnected Seat Belt
2. Low Tyre Pressure
3. Blown Bulb
4. Low Oil Level
5. Temperature 3 degrees C & below

The most likely suspect is seen to be the external temperature sensor (as mentioned before on this thread) so when the bumper comes off will be what gets my attention

what outside temperature reading are you getting though.
 
You can check the temp sensor by taking off the lower inspection hatch in the passenger side wheel well - no need for bumper off. Think you may be close though, as all the other possible causes would give a dash light too.

If it's reading the correct outside temperature though I wouldn't think the sensor would be at fault.
