Twitchy rear end...

Out of interest all you guys who have ditched the runflats, what do you do if you get a puncture? Do you just accept calling someone out to fix it or do you carry some squirty stuff etc? Thinking of ditching mine......

simple question.. when was the last time you got a proper all out puncture.. ?

I have bought one of the puncture repair kits available on ebay (the type where you ream out a small hole and then glue in an insert) and carry a small 12v compressor. Also carry a can of squirty gunk in case all else fails. All of this fits in a football boot bag so doesn't take up much space.
 
Had a puncture in my original run flats. On anything other than a very smooth road it feels like you are smashing your alloys to bits anyway.

My original E85 has a puncture soon after I bought it which hastened a full change... in the following 40k miles fortunately never had one but a can of gunk & a paid up recovery service from nationwide gave peace of mind

Have had 2 in the last 2 years. Both in rear non-runflat tyres with 6mm+ tread. Neither was repairable.

1st was 5" bolt (& washer). 200 yards from tyre repairer.
2nd was split near edge of tread caused by road debris. Slow puncture.
Carry gunk & compressor. Useful for neither puncture.
Runflat would not have survived #1.
 
Bloody bad luck, sounds like a dangerous place, wife got one a few years ago, but I haven't had one in donkeys years. Luck of the draw I suppose. :(

I worked with a fella who was driving a colleague to work one day, who was boasting “I’ve been driving for 25 years and never had an accident” - then BANG! He bashed it a stationary car!
