Twin Black Exhaust Tips *** DONE with Pic***

Anyone ever seen or heard of any for the Zed?

I've spoken with Joe the parts guy, he stocks nothing similar.

Worst case scenario, buy a chrome set and paint i guess, any advice on that? I think i'd like a gloss type finish.

*** Update ***

Ok i took TH3R4POR's advice and went for the VHT paint original tips option. It came out very dull and MATT so i gave it a couple coats of lacquer, which livened it up just enough. Have done around 100 miles with it done now, no noticable difference to the paint or finish and i quite like it, subtle.

I'd be interested to see how it turns out... my reservation would be how dirty exhaust tips get and how black show up the dirt.

Reference painting, I'm certain CJ painted his exhaust boxes black, found it - http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=14843&#p218851 - but for goodness sake, get in, get the information you want and get out... looking at it for too long leads to ideas and get expensive :oops:

Tips are generally stainless or chromed steel. Flat or satin black high temp exhaust paint. Looks good with darker color cars. Light color cars seem to need a little more such as blacking out the bottom edge.
 
BMW tips are made from mild steel and then chromed. Seems a waste to then prepare the surface with emery paper to spray them black. Why not just paint the bare tips with VHT matt black exhaust paint and see what it looks like.
 
AlanJ you read my mind, will pick up a can of the high temp stuff tomorrow and have a go.
 
The high temp paint will stay on fine, many people paint the insides of their exhaust tips black as it's a lazy way to stop them looking so sooty and dirty ;)
 
Hi Hertsz4, I stumbled across some carbon fibre tips on tinternet, but they weren't wide enough to fit the M tips, but saying that I have since realised that the tips are pop rivited onto the pipes :oops: so they might fit after all.... Good luck, make sure you post pis :D
