TV working again!!!!!

Did you buy the antennas separately as the ones in the link aren't flat. Got a link? I've been looking at getting better ones, just skeptical about £20+ each antenna. Where did you wire the power for the antenna to? I guess you used a mini coax extension to route them to the boot?

Trust me, they don't look flat in the picture but they are. They also have a 3M strip on the back but didn't even need to peal that off as they just fit snugly behind the A pillars and are totalling out of sight.

The antennas each have an in line booster and the unit has twin antenna inputs so all self contained.

Ultimately it may just be where I have located the antennas but overall I can confirm my set up works as advertised.

Thanks for the update.

Where did you wire the power into to get ignition live etc? Direct to fuse box?

I used the live and earth from the cd unit.

The cd changer has two plugs that go into it and one has three wires. Outside brown is earth and the Middle red striped is live. Runs off the IKE so basically the circuit goes live when you open door and stays on 15 mins after ignition off so won't drain battery.

Every wondered if your sat nav was always on as when you open the door you hear it before you put key in ignition? That's the IKE doing its job.

Very useful info. I still need to fit my digital tuner, so will look at wiring the unit and antenna to the cd changer too. Sounds like a good location to tap into, then run the antenna to the windscreen. Spot on.

If you're still to fit tv module, the biggest pain in the you know what is removing the centre console as that is the only way to get the Nav unit out to plug in retrofit cable between tuner and nav.

Power cable to cd is accessible from rear bulk head but as I have a dice mediabridge, it wasn't plugged into changer anyway.

If you want to do a compete install (module and tuner) I'll pm you over a list of comparable tuners tomorrow and a simple guide to do the install as it only took me 2 hours but if you don't know how to remove centre console, you'll be there foreve.

Thanks.

I've already fitted the oem analogue tuner, and have the av input lead fitted. I just need to install the digital tuner, hardwire power, antenna etc. I have a similar twin diversity eonon tuner. I don't like splicing into power etc though, so have been putting it off. I too don't have the cd changer fitted so the plug will be free to use. Did you just cut the ends and solder the cables on?

Totally up to you, but I would just splice in in case you needed to connect something like a Dice Meadiabrige at a later date... in the long run easier to cut an old wire than add a new plug.
