Turnpike Meet - September 4th

The first meeting I've managed to attend today and thoroughly enjoyed every minute ! Thanks Taz for arranging it and Mr Wilks for the great drive 'en route' to the Turnpike Inn. Nice to finally be able to put names to faces. Looking forward to the next one already !

Great meet! Great drive over even with the weather, great turnout... Thanks to everyone who helped organise it and particularly to DPG for the route over from Huddersfield, had 8 in the convoy over the tops! Roll on the next one

Yep good to meet up before the off & once we got through the clouds it was a nice drive over , " Cerbera " ( silver E89 at the Turf ) has a drive out scheduled from Preston next weekend if you fancied that + there will be other mini meets over the coming months

Yep that's the one , some top roads on that route

Just wanted to add my thanks to Taz for organising - was my first appearance at one of these meets and it was an enjoyable way to spend a grey Sunday morning! Food was pretty good too - which is always a bonus

Thanks also to Marlon and Mr Wilks for the drive across - it was great to stretch the Coupe's legs and remind myself what it can do when it's not pottering around on the daily commute. I think we're going to need a bigger car park though!

Taz - I'm missing on the welcome photo's roll call - Blue Coupe S55 CWY

PDZ101
S55 CWY

I will check these later, some don't have the number plates on them due to the picture angle but i will have a look

Whilst you are looking can you see if A6UVW is there

Cheers

Great stuff Taz - love the arrival photos and then the full car park is very impressive

Pretty good that you arranged for an NSX to be there as well - I'd have liked a look at that :D

Hope to get down to one of these meets eventually so keep organising Pete

.... apart from the overpriced bacon sandwich

I will feed this back to them, personally I didn't like the drinks, when I'm paying for a brew I'd like my own brew served to me

As anybody else got any comments?

A great set of videos there Colin, can you email me mine?

Regarding the food/service. The full English was ok - its a bit hit and miss at the Turnpike, TBH I preferred the food at Anchor Inn Gargrave - it was a hotel buffet style 'serve yourself' breakfast: fried eggs, black pudding, beans etc. so the food was hot and you could select whatever you liked. The thing is, where else has an empty car park that we can fill with 25 Zeds like the Turnpike, and the central location for North West and South Yorkshire members? Its not all about the breakfast.

(Just read your post Taz - will email your vid  )
