So, who's going to be first to panic this year? And who's going to be first with the standard 'ooh it's your head gasket' response?

huh? wots this then....

As the cold weather hits us, more and more cars start to get oil/water mixed sludge under the oil filler cap, almost all due to short journeys and condensation mixing with the oil...........then starts a spate of mild panic and head gasket drama.

Last winter all 3 cars in our house had it, as they did the previous winter, they all cure themselves come April/May.

Ah yes i guess that makes sense ... :D i guess mine will be one of them... all i make is short journeys for 60% of the time :) ...... maybe its a head gasket :o :?

 mine did exactly this last winter. Panicked for a bit.

Been a year now and no head gasket failure.
