Turbo charger

Hi guys,
I’ve got BMW Z4 e89 2.3i originally no turbo charge. We fitted into the engine Holset turbo charge and intercooler.
I’m looking for advice what to do next ?
- if I need to fit aftermarket ECU ?
- air fuel gate universal ?
- wide band oxygen sensor ?
- mechanical boost valve ?
Looking for advice ?
Thank you

Welcome, i think you've gone places where most folks here haven't trod. :tumbleweed:

I'm intrigue why you went down that route..not that there is anything wrong, but for example most folks would have started with the 30i unit?

The guys whu supplied the parts didn't have any advice?

Unfortunately not, the guy who fit the turbo charger hasn’t got idea what to do next so …. I’ve spent lot of money on the car and the car doesn’t work .
So not to sure how to fix the issue.
Thank you

Oh dear…I suspect its going to cost you a lot more to get this sorted.

There are very few tuners that mess around with that 2.5 litre model, especially turbo charging.

May be cheaper to put it back to stock and sell it and get something more tuneable.

A N20 re-maps nicely as does a N54. The 3 litre one has a supercharger as an option.

Maybe post a little information on how, and why, you got to this point?
It all seems a little strange to me; throw a turbo charger in a n/a car which has very little history of others doing the same, then your mechanic having no idea where to go from there.

Sorry I can't offer any advice, but welcome to the forum anyway, and good luck getting your car up and running.

Well, the guy who was fitting the turbo charger he confirmed it will be not any problem to finish if the project, only what has to be done is fitting aftermarket ecu . However in my opinion he did not have enough experience and I’ve made mistake to trust him . On this moment I don’t drive the car …..

If the guy has no clue where to go from here, could you not get him to put it back as it was?

I can see you’ve put a lot of love and effort into your car..many of us have been down that route..

I’m being cruel to be kind…really

I think you are in a deep hole and it’s going to cost an awful large amount of money and even may be impossible to dig yourself out of this hole.

There is zippo 3rd party support for the N52B30 engine..so you are really on your own.

Even with my N20 powered E89 it cost me over €1,500 just to tune a slightly larger version of an existing turbo on a car that was designed from the ground up as a turbo powered car.

It’s so easy to blow up a turbo’d car if you don’t know what you are doing.

So I think you need to think very hard about where you go from here.

Sorry I didn’t sugar coat it..

Of course this is just opinion ..others may have more productive views

If parts have been fitted they can be removed, sounds like your least costly and easiest action is rip it all out and put back to standard. You won't get this car up, running and running correctly. Sounds like just hardware so cut your losses and have a running car back.

Best of luck.

I think you're doing the right thing - if you don't know what to do next, the guy who started it doesn't know what to do next, and very few (if any) people in the world have done the same thing previously, you're only going to throw away more money by carrying on. I hope you manage to get it back to working condition without too much trouble!

Is that an E Type under the cover?
If so, selling that will solve all your financial worries!
