TT-RS

I think your a lucky boy and you will love it

We have a 2.0tdi auto TT!!!!! Not for much longer a TT and a z4 dose not work with having a kid and a dog!!
But even my oil burner with an auto is a great fun car to drive. Yes its a bit numb through the steering. But I haven't driven a modern car that isn't? Its not a flat out involving car. Its more a gt car and if you think of it like that. Its bloody brilliant even with a TDI in it!!

Nice choice, my other car is a white TTRS with s tronic (which the missus drives) and it's a really competent car, very fast on the road, loads of grip and extremely well built. It's just a little lifeless compared to the MC and you don't actually hear too much of the noise when driving, it's certainly nowhere near the M with the Gruppe M.

Brilliant daily driver though.

It's not actually a performance upgrade at all unless you tune it. I've got the full road test data from Autocar on both the TTRS and rhe Z4MC. There's a small advantage 0-60 in the TT due to the 4WD getting power down cleaner off the line but by 130mph the Z4MC is slightly quicker. In-gear acceleration times are pretty similar - the Z4 is slightly quicker in some and the TT slightly quicker in others. If you tune it then it is a different ball game obviously. But standard v standard there's nothing in it.

Be great to see these?

Suprised at the interest this is generating, seems a very marmite car :)

Agree with the steering feel and input comments, it's not a true drivers car in any sense of the imagination. More of a brute akin to modern hot hatches ala Focus RS / Golf R / RS3 etc i'd say.

For someone like me where it'll be my daily driver doing 90% commuting and 10% leisure i'd say it's a good choice.

Genuinely cannot wait to take ownership :)

Cheers matey

Interested to hear you own both a TTRS and Z4M - very envious! As above, unfortunately it's my only car so as a point to point warrior for a crap driver like me using it mainly for commuting with the odd road trip / b road blast it should fit the bill nicely :)

its not mine unfortunately :-(

You still have a Z4M though, stunning cars :driving:

In short, it's a better car for 90% of the time....the other 10% when you want to 'drive' the car the MC rewards the spirited driver.

Also, the running costs are cheaper, i.e tax and servicing...does drink more oil though.

That's a gorgeous colour and I actually like the engine bay on the RS, the engine bay on the TTS is as bland as they come.

Nice low miles too, enjoy it

Now that is really lovely. Stunning vibrant blue. Hope it serves you well and you get masses of enjoyment from it. Congrats

Cheers :D

Yeah the colour is a definite stunner to me :)

The engine bay is certainly more exciting than the TTS bays you mentioned :o

Cheers matey.

Though you managed to upstage it with your stunning Porsche :D

thats a beautiful car- seen it on detailing world thought it was yours from the first post i read on here.

Definatley an upgrade i would like to own a mk2 TT after the Z4 eventually!

Very nice indeed I would loved that engine in ours! Like someone else has said it's a better car 90% of the time.
It's a shame but our TT balck edition with the amplified pack (looks like an RS even if it doesn't go like one) will be going soon  but we need a bigger car luckily they have just brought out a black addition q3 Mrs Monkey won't get the RS of that either! We are swapping the TT for the same specification q3

Also I was surprised to see your car pop up on my FB yesterday!! Your friends with or friends with someone who is friends with Mark Beardmore.

I'm sure this engine has cleaned up a series amount of awards over the years too, very impressive power plant.

It will be going in for full paintwork correction plus a ceramic coating early next year, then I can just clean it and add superficial layers of wax

Cheers matey

Marks a good friend of mine and a fellow detailing junkie.

He's spoken of you before as you do some tracktime at Curborough if I remember correctly which is his home from home

He's trying to convince me to take the 'faux by four' there for a lap or two, it'd be like driving miss daisy :driving:

Not been all plain sailing with the car, a TPMS fault has re-appeared that needs investigating and it's THIRSTY.

The torque is available for virtually 1400 rpm all the way up to 5500. It's mad.

It sounds aggressive too. Get's heads turning :driving:

Also the OEM exhaust is spot on, really impressive with the valves open in sports mode.

Also added a set of pressed plates tonight :

Well I hope it was complmentry!!! Probably moaning about the state of my car!!

You should bring it along. It dose not matter how fast or slow you are. As long as you have fun. Its nice to be able to strech your cars legs. And without endagering anonelse or worrying about speeding tickets.
