Trunk lock on 2009 BMW Z4 Keeps engaging

Hey Folks,
I have a 2009 BMW Z4 and the trunk keeps trying to close after i close the trunk. The actuator keeps Cycling the trunk latch and just constantly recycles after I locked the vehicle...
Can anyone point me in the right direction for the repair?

The cables that connect the actuator to the rest of the car are probably broken…search this forum for broken boot lock

Ok i have checked all wiring by pulling out the mechanism nothing broken or bent any other ideas?

I am having the same problem, and I can’t find any broken wires. Last time I checked the actuator to look at the wires the boot would close but the soft close wouldn’t engage. After I reassembled everything, now the boot doesn’t close or soft close. Any suggestions?

Broken wires hide under any sheathing, it's a manufacturing fault.

Yep - it's broken wiring, you just haven't found it yet.

Thanks guys. I will give it one more try. By the way, I was having trouble detaching the wiring connectors from the actuator so I gave up. Is there some trick to it? Here is a picture.
