trunk junk

Are those nets on the battery compartment standard or aftermarket (and if so, where did you get them)? They look really useful for putting small things into.

They're not standard in that position, they're simply a couple of passenger footwell nets that I've re-purposed to hold little things in the boot.

You can also retrofit the 'extended storage' pack for the boot, but it's a couple of hundred ££ for the LHS trim piece (with holes/bars) to which a new net fits, as this picture from the 'extended storage' thread.

Pauly, That's a bright light; is your roof light above instead of at the side?

Yeah its a led strip light wired up to the original dim light at the side :) Bright as hell in the dark!

I like  Going to have to get one of those in there!

I try to keep the trunk (boot) pretty clean. Usually it contains: car cover, manuals, front license plate, and side covers (if top is up).
I also have the lid mounted pouches which hold: microfiber cloth, tire pressure gauge, wheel lock key, and tool for removing locking tire valve caps.

In the boot small bag with waterproof, scraper, spare hat and gloves. Seat cover, ball chucker and a couple of tennis balls- yes the mutt travels sometimes. in the glove box cable for the aux in and sat nav and shades

I typically have in a boot a spare set of clothes (shirt, shorts and socks), a few toiletries and a towel for protecting the lip of the boot when loading up a suitcase.

+1  I've already started looking on eBay for a suitable length strip.

Do you mind me asking which of these do you have, and do you recommend it?

I'd like to get one (as I think they make the trunk/boot lid look better finished, as well as providing useful storage space, but they are not exactly cheap, especially when you have to include shipping to the UK.

I'd suggest looking for this type as it can be cut every few inches to make custom lengths.

Phillip,
I have the trunk pouch shown in the bottom picture. I have been very happy with it. It is well made, and very handy. It uses velcro closures, but the pouches themselves are not completely sealed -they have small openings in the bottom, small items can fall out -but not a big problem. The color and finsh matches the trunk interior very well. Overall, very happy with them, I would not give them up.
