trouble releasing and shutting the bonnet.

After getting very pis**d off struggling to open my bonnet and this would normally involve someone else pushing gently down by the bonnet badge while i pull the lever , i set about fixing it.
As this seems to be a common problem i checked the forum for help and bingo .
1st i used some water soluble degreaser which i borrowed from work and cleaned all the gunk off the bonnet catch and the greased it up with some nice new thick grease. Then i wound out the u shape hook on the bonnet by a turn and a half and now the problem is solved .Well happy
 
Yeah I did similar a few months ago. I didn't gunk it up too much after cleaning the catch. I think it had too much gunk on it before
