Triple Gauge install for E89

I quite like them James and a quick install as it just plugs into OBD port. Pity though theres no oil temp which for me is the most important.

I fitted a vent guage on the M135i as I wanted to know when the oil was upto temp. BMW in their wisdom don't think one is needed :(

No sorry James, they look a bit tacky IMO in the nice E89 interior. Plus the viewing angle as well, not good.

Well worth posting mods up though, some will like, some won't, but the efforts appreciated.

Sorry yes that sounded negative. As John-e89, it's good to post stuff up. But personally not for me. It would spoil a lovely interior IMHO

Hi Tim .. was that a easy install ??

Very easy James, literally take the side trim panel off, unclip the old vent and clip the new one in and run the cable out and down the side behind the door rubber and plug into the OBD socket, 10 mins tops.

P3 Cars do one for the E89,

I bought the preinstalled guage for my 1er otherwise you have to take your existing vent/slats apart to install the screen etc. The annoyance with ordering from USA is 60 quid customs duty :(

Hi Tim .. does yours have a boost gauge display ? if yes did you have to run any pipes as in the photos they show a coiled up piece of tubing ??

Yes it shows boost :) from the P3 site below, there are no pipes etc just plugs into your OBD.

Tim.

Plug and Play install Quick plug and play install with zero cutting required. All power and ground connections come directly from the low profile concealed diagnostics port connector.

Boost/Vacuum Display High resolution boost/vacuum display showing actual manifold boost, Read Boost/Vaccum via diag port directly, no tap required.

wow

sounds like a 1st possible mod .. any UK e89 owners done this

Maniac .. whats your thoughts on this, would be great to have that info available

Only thing I would say against the vent display is you obviously can only have one feature showing at a time as opposed to a set of dials,

I had this set up on my old E87 using a Garmin sat nav which showed a number of options at the same time, I've also had it running in the M135i but it wont display oil temp

Worked via blutooth with a plug in OBD reader.
