Trickle charging

Guys.. when using a trickle charger, do you connect directly to the battery or do you use the terminals under the bonnet… or does it matter? Thanks!

I have mine hardwired to some ring terminals on the battery for ease, but I'll happily charge under the bonnet too (which is what I used to do). I don't find it matters - both work well enough. I just find the boot easier/cleaner to access

E85/6 doesn’t matter. E89 has IBS so ideally needs to be the under bonnet connections.

Like others have said, on the E85 it doesn't matter. The only reason I do it from under the hood, is that my M54 loves to shoot the s**t, and have a beer with me!
