Trickle charger

This is the kit, I think I paid around £40 three years ago so this is about right.

Wow. Who knew trickle chargers were "M specific"

only mmmmmmm cars are worthy of looking after the battery... lol

I stuck a Halfrauds mmmmm badge on my trickle charger to try and help out so I didn't get shouted at...

just don't forget it's plugged in and drive out of the garage like some idiot did...

I only just realised in time :D

That's the main reason I connect under the bonnet and have the cable exit between bonnet and scuttle and all the way up the windscreen to the power point for the garage doors.

You can't forget it's connected when the cable is right across the windscreen.

Can any of these be used on a car that lives outside if I have power nearby?

Yes, you could connect to the terminals in the boot and have the unit in the boot so just the mains cable exits the boot. Should be enough gap in the seal.

this is how I do it, many of us do this

I'm using one of these:

With one of these wired in under the bonnet:

And one of these to go between the two:

Rate the setup really highly, I especially like the comfort indicator that shows you the health of the battery.

Because I mounted the charger on the wall in my garage without checking the leads would reach the car.
They didn't
So instead of admitting defeat I bought an extension cable to go between the two. It also means that the cable can reach my bike which also has a comfort connector on it.
