Tree sap

Spinster Towers is in the woods and The Weasel is covered in dots of sap!

Should I be worried? Its annoying but will it damage him? Can anything specific help protect him?

Black really is a bugger to keep nice

Aye, sap is no good for your paint work. Claying will get it off, but best to try and keep it off in the first place.
I'd put an outdoor cover on "the weasel" myself :)
I just picked up a genuine BMW one from eBay for £66 delivered... but am having a bit of trouble with it marring the bootlid :x

I had the same problem with my car after finding several tree sap dots. I purchased this spray from my local BMW dealer that removes tree sap, birds droppnings etc for about £6. Did a fantastic job getting rid of those stubborn stains!!

Spinster Towers = My House

The Weasel = XXXX WZW

There are no STDs here, being Spinster Towers.......

Maybe a car cover then? :P

Are you lot on the pull or something :D

Sap consists primarily of water, along with hormones, minerals, and nutrients and the chemical reaction creates a sticky residue which if landed on paintwork and untreated can cause long term damage.
If washed correctly, thoughly and treated with claybar this will remove the bonded contamination your car has received though some severe cases have needed machine polishing to finish and refine.
Add a quality sealant and wax to help prevent this happening again.
