Travels abroad

In the last 10 days I have done 2 trips to France, racking up around 2,000 miles and on both occasions the car was faultless.
I always feel a bit nervy heading out in an older car for a lengthy trip, especially abroad, but the car was faultless.
Going out again in a few weeks and I think I will take it for another joli!
I really enjoy driving this car.

I take mine twice a year to the Nurburgring.
Hammer it round and drive home.
I always take out European break down cover but never needed it.
If you maintain your car there is no reason it shouldn’t be as reliable as a new car

Congratulations.

I did 2,000 miles in a week in my E86 last year going around the NC500 with no issues. Properly maintained there's no reason why older cars like these should have an issue, unless you're very unlucky. Anyway enjoy your next trip.

And I had to compliment you on your Cirrus Aluminium dash! My previous E86 had and I loved it, but it seems to be pretty rare.

We are pretty adventurous (crazy?) last year I asked wifey where she wanted to go - Barcelona, OK I’ll check the flights - no we’re taking the Z.
So checked everything out booked the ferry off we went fully loaded, toured through France 3 nights in Barcelona, 3 in Madrid, toured back up the west of France. We only put the hood up once, it was 45C at Madrid we had to use the aircon, car 2.5 si auto, cruise 36mpg didnt miss a beat, really comfortable for touring, eats the miles on the motorway.
We had a long weekend in Switzerland in May, lovely but that’s a lot less miles
