Traveling

Thanks for the kind wishes! It is a bit of a risk but hopefully it will pan out.

I will certainly take plenty of pictures!

Little present arrived this week that completes all my travel purchases! Lovely little lens, 70-300mm L

Just came across this thread Tom ,its certainly going to be a bit different to the Cumbrian flora & fauna :)
Best of luck marra hope you have a great trip

So this is my full digital darkroom. Weighs less than 4kg, amazing what you can do with technology these days. That iPad mini will edit a full raw file off the 5DMKIII no problem!

Had my last day at work today! Bit of an emotional one! But all ready nearly packed just 3 days :D

I feel excited for you, I am off to Indonesia and Thailand for a month :D

Thanks monkadill. TBH it will probably stay in my bag until I'm in the Amazon for the wildlife. It looks quite big there but is really quite small and discrete compared to other white L lenses.

Ive got the camera all blacked out, taped up all the labels and stuff and because its my main production camera it looks pretty beat up anyway, so should hopefully look a little more run of the mill DSLR. I was going to buy a lens coat for the 70-300mm but decided against it because when the lens extends the barrel is white..

I use something similar the Black Rapid strap

What you are going to do is just INSANE! But in a good way!
This is an experience worth more than gold (and a Z4M as well apparantly :-p )

Can't wait to see your pics and blog!

Just thought i would check in. Currently in Potosi, Bolivia. Just over half way through my South American tour... month already!

Sorry for the lack of posts but reliable wifi is rare. will try and get some pics up soon.

Anyway Just spent 4 hours deep in a silver, tin, zink and lead mine. Potosi used to be the biggest city in the world and is currently the highest city at 4000m. Small cramped, dark, diesel generators running almost asfixiation! Tiny spaces 2ft high crawling on all fours. Then we met the minors! So so happy, proud and passionate about what they do! Drinking white spirt with them toasting to their forefathers. Then they let 3 sticks of dynamite off 100ft from us, so scary and they found a huge vain. One of the best experiences of my life... had so many so far in the trip but this tops it!

Will be in touch soon! :)

Nice to hear from you Tom
Don't think I would be brave enough to go down a mine here never mind one in Bolivia good on yer marra
