Or the bypass plunger is pushed in

Wow £100 for a dealer to reset transport mode, I doubt they would delete it in the hope it happens again and it comes back for another reset when low battery brings it on. I obviously sell myself short at Zedshed Cymru, I leave it up to the individual member of our What's App group to decide on a donation to the shed running costs whatever job that gets done, that's what we enthusiasts are all about.

[ref]Rozzy1970[/ref], you could simply buy yourself this:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154021453500
Install it on an old laptop (I got a cheapo Windows 8 one). Then you have a code reader, fault reseter and coding options.
You'd probably quickly recoup your outlay by doing stuff for others in your area.

Do you need ISTA (or whatever its called) for this?

No, it's a standalone bit of software, with it's own cable.

Most dealers will charge a minimum of an hours labour to do anything on your car even if it only takes five minutes..

Listers BMW, Kings Lynn, quoted one hour labour @ £186, just to put the car on a diagnostic machine, even though the owner already told them it was the SIM85 failed.
He came to see me instead. :D
