Hi helpful people,
Is there anyone near Coventry that could disable Transport mode on a 2007 2.0 SE, battery went totally flat and now AC, fan and window demister have stopped working after recharging?

I am down in Newport South Wales and can delete it for you but off on a Cruise back after the 14th April if thats any good.
I do visit family in Malvern sometimes so could arrange a meet to do it when I'm up that way.
Also attend the Evesham Hampton Ferry Car show when that's on, next one is 14th June 2025.

[ref]Rozzy1970[/ref], you could simply buy yourself this:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154021453500
Install it on an old laptop (I got a cheapo Windows 8 one). Then you have a code reader, fault reseter and coding options.
You'd probably quickly recoup your outlay by doing stuff for others in your area.

enuff_zed makes a good suggestion by equipping yourself with BMW Scanner 1.4 on a laptop its very easy to use and can reset Transport Mode as well as code read the modules on the car and clear codes. It will only reset Transport Mode if you want to delete it from the car so it dosn't happen again when you have a low battery condition it requires a higher end scanner that can delete it from all the modules it lives in. My launch tablet scanner can delete it from all modules but these scanners cost £300 and more.

That would be great but the car is up for sale.
Well you're not going to find it easy to sell it like that. If you want a trouble free sale then why don't you bite the bullet and go to someone who can fix it.

That's why I'm trying to get it fixed, neither do I have a laptop, happy to pay someone local to sort it hence the reason I asked

You miss my point I think. If you need to sell the car then you may have to travel a bit further to get it done.

Back to my another day and another issue.
So the roof has been working fine but today got 1/2 way when closing and stops, checked by the motor and there is a slight sign of oil (motor has already been relocated to the boot by previous owner).
Presume possible loose joint, and it's a lack of pressure?

I wouldn't mind if it was my car but this is what happens when you try to help your son out :headbang:

If there is oil in the boot by the motor then hopefully an easy fix. Tweak up the union.
Top the reservoir up using hydraulic jack oil.

Alternatively, keep listing all these new problems and I'll buy it cheap. :poke: :D

A BMW main dealer will do the transport mode delete for you but expect to pay an hours labour - might be £100 depending on where you go.

Sounds like a loom break to me

Could be right Stuart. I was distracted by the oil residue, but that may already have been there?

Stopping halfway is the giveaway for me

Thinking on it a bit more, if it was a loss of pressure then the motor would still be running.
[ref]Rozzy1970[/ref], when it stops, does the motor stop (wiring), or keep running (fluid/pressure loss)?

[ref]enuff_zed[/ref], The motor is still going, checked connections and all seem tight so working on the basis that a seal has failed
