"transport mode" help?

Hi All,

I have an issue where my heated read screen and air con don't work - the lights dont even come on and the blower only goes on minimum.

Having done a google, it appears I have this issue (left lights on at weekend and battery went flat.....).

So the car is in Transport mode... do I really need to pay a dealer to change this or is there something I can do to reset it?

Yes trip to dealer or find someone on here who has the software locally

Where are you based?

Any BMW specialist with BMW diagnostic tools can do it.
It can't be a standard ODB diagnostic tool tho - HAS to be the BMW toolset.

I'd expect the initial price from a dealer to be about £50, but you could probably argue that down with them
 
well.. I'd be able to sort it, but I'm nottingham, so that's a fair old trip, and a dealer would definately be cheaper!

You could always buy a cable from the interwebs and have a go yourself?
costs around £20 and you can do much much more with a little practice :thumbsup:
 
Where in north west London as I'm on my travels this Friday around egham, Bracknell and Farnham. Then back up M1 to the midlands so could do it late afternoon if that helps

Kind offer Sk93 but as you say, a bit of a trek.

I work in Windsor so not far away from you Mac but on Friday morning I shall be heading to Calais for a weekend in Germany. I was hoping to have the Air Con working and the blower as I'd be wanting the top down whilst I'm over there, weather permitting of course. Thanks for the offer also.

Looks like I'll be ringing round dealers tomorrow morning to see who can get it done tomorrow. It's gonna hurt!
