Transport Mode Delete Using DIS

Yup

Back with another attempt at deleting transport mode.
My ISTA-D attempt earlier today did not work due to the cable not being right for the car.

Car: 07 E85 although manufactured in 06 so something about protocol and needing the cable with a switch.

In meantime decided to try DIS.

The install was with VMWare. I set the COM Port to 1 and by this point have already uninstalled INPA, NCS, ISTA-D
Took few attempts to get it loading but when I did got the following errors and to help I attached a bunch of screenshots I took navigating around DIS configuration menu.

Any help appreciated.

NOTE - this is my 3rd week owning this Z4 really learning a lot thanks to you guys.

There's some good guides around to install, they have to be followed to the letter though. It can be a real pain in the ass. You could have kept INPA installed, have you still got the Edibas files installed as you need these to communicate with the car. You also need to be running 'DiagHead' application which should have come with the DIS before you start it up otherwise you won't get a connection....very hard to diagnose over the net to be honest.

The best advice I can give is delete and start again fresh following a guide carefully. If you've done that already, it might be your cable....I use the silver one with the switch personally and only have the occasional issue.

I think the problem is that I:

1) I removed INPA and deleted the EdiBias folder
Q - do I need to do as i did for NCS Expert, Load INPA make sure its speaking with the car and exit then load DIS (Via VMWare)?

2) I never had DiagHead as part of the software package, I am doing a restore to a windows restore point so my registry is clear and re-installing everything again but this time in stead of VMWare using VM Workstation.

1) It can't hurt to test it with INPA first, at least you know if that's working it's communicating with car so half the battle

2) You need Diaghead app to be running before you start DIS. Don't ask me the complexities of why....but it does! You can download it if you google about....
