Transport mode - activation

I read about many slipping into the transport mode when having low batteries etc However, will this mode be activated just by disconnecting the battery for a few hours ?

I'd like to do a recon on the M steering wheel, which means disconnecting the airbag/battery. But will this then go into transport mode ?

Does every disconnection mean a £35 trip to the jokers shop or seeking out help from a friedley forum member

Also, is this active on all models ?

Some will have had transport mode switched of completely when having pre delivery, so it won't come back on if battery removed
 
I had my battery disconnected all day during the summer whilst i had the seats out to dry the carpet underneath after the rain had got in. No issues at all when reconnected was my experience.
