Transmission Resonant Chirp - 23i sDrive

Hi all. My 23i has had various transmission issues this year and has had most of it replaced under warranty.

The noise is a pronounced chirp and I can feel vibrations through the clutch pedal. It occurs at 1200 RPM in second gear and 2200 RPM in first gear. It occur whenever you are at those rev ranges either accelerating or on overrun.

If you have had this issue I'd appreciate any pointers. Many thanks in advance!

Take it into Iridium Engineering. They sometimes fix stuff that Partridge can't sort out.

Ok good shout. I've sent them an email and will call them tomorrow. Still interested in whether there are any 23i owners with the same problem however.

Had my 23i for 3 years with no sound or problems with the transmission ,also can't remember anyone else on the forum with this problem

I'm in Guildford and have a 2.31 which I bought from vines of Guildford in July as a one owner 12000 mile car .
I've noticed noisy fuel pump when tank is low .
I'm interested in your transmission parts replacent .
What mileage and why was it needed ie what were the symptoms ?.
I've not noticed the other noise you mention but I know a very good Independant in Bentley near Farnham if that helps. .

I had the fuel pump replaced in January at 28k miles. It's really common.

My Z4 is going back in v soon to hopefully get to the bottom of the transmission noise. I'll post the outcome here.

Mine makes the chirping sound at exactly the same points in the rev range. I assumed it was a characteristic??
