Transmission play - engine mounts?

Hi all, I have a prefacelift 3.0 on 96k and there is a noticeable bit of play when rolling on or off the throttle. From reading the forums, this could be the diff bushes, but it also feels like it could be engine or transmission mounts - however, when I search on engine mounts, all I get as results are Z4Ms chewing them up, nothing about normal Z4s.

Anyone else done them? What symptoms did you cure? Which brand and how much? Easy to fit?

I'm not interested in fitting vibratechnics etc., would just like (if it is the mounts) a good set of pattern ones.

Does the z4 suffer guibo (doughnut) failure like the E46 does? I had to get mine replaced on my old E46 although that was more of the clunking noise rather than "play".
