Transmission Fluid Replacement Questions

Hello all, :hattip:
I am looking to have my ATM fluid changed as the car just nipped over to 80k :cheers: :bday:
Having just spoken to my local Stealer they have quoted £398 for the work including 10 litres of fluid (gearbox takes over 9 litres of fluid I'm told! :o

My questions are:
1. How un/reasonable is that price?
2. Does the auto gearbox actually take that much fluid?

Wullie, you'll never get all of the fluid out. I got about 8. 5L out of mine last week. I'll do the fluid change for £100 incl the fluid.

Wullie, you'll never get all of the fluid out. I got about 8. 5L out of mine last week. If do the fluid change for £100 incl the fluid.

I asked about gear box oil change at my indy's and was told it was a 'lifetime' oil in a sealed unit :thumbsdown:

The 500 mile round trip wouldnt cost you more than the difference though.... £298.
Even 2 tanks of fuel at £40 per tank still a saving of over £200. :thumbsup:

Surely there must be an indie or auto specialist who will do it up there for a lot cheaper than the stealer. At least if you get it done local it's not a day of your time and bearing in mind the fuel cost even £200 locally would seem worthwhile
