transmision tunnel trim

do you mean part no. 3:

if so, you probably can. I have seen it somewhere else that has been covered in leather. personally never had an issue with that, as I rest my arm on the tiny armrest :)

it is not the easiest thing to remove though, do a quick search and you'll find out why :headbang:

No reason why it's cant be done, after all BMW did it but don't know how easy it would be, a lot will depend on softness and thickness of the leather.

A link for what exactly?

I can post some pics of the OEM CFL leather wrapped one showing the underside if you want.

yes its part number 3,have done a search but nothing came up,do you have a link?

not the link for the leather one, but just to show you what is involved if you decide to go for it and replace or re-trim the centre console trim.

I have changed mine to piano black and srhutch gave me some tips and info (thanks once again), then it was just being patient and taking my time, but it was worth it.

thanks for the link,as you said it looks a right pig of a job to remove, might try to get a seccond hand panel to have a play with before i try to remove the existing one

It's not that bad, and once you have done it is pretty straightforward...
Can send some pointers if needed.
