Translation of modifications in advert please!

Hi all and thank you in advance

I’m researching Z4s before I buy my first. My previous cars have been Japanese (Skyline, Supra) or electric (Tesla, ID3 pro) so I’m trying to learn the language of BMW!
I’ve had some simple modifications done to my Jap cars in the past (re-mapping, changing suspension and exhaust) so I know some can really enhance a car, others can trash it.
I’m new to this but I know enough to know I don’t know much! :)

I think I want an E89 with a 3L N52 auto.
I’ve had expensive turbo failures before and don’t like turbo lag so my preference is natural aspiration. I reckon the 2.5L won’t pull quite as nicely as the 3L so I’ve been hunting for the 30i not 23i. I’m changing from electric lease cars back to this so I’m used to nipping onto roundabouts with a smooth torque curve. I don’t really want to stamp and wait!

I’m looking to use it as my daily commute for a couple of years, then when I retire it’ll be used far less and will sit in the garage a fair bit of the time while I have long holidays (hopefully!).

I am looking for a very well maintained one with heated seats and cruise control, any colour but red. Bluetooth connectivity would be ideal.
I can afford to look after it and I’m expecting an initial overhaul and check-up with a decent garage then yearly servicing etc.
I don’t really mind the paintwork needing some love but the seats need to be in good nick.
I think, but correct me if I’m wrong please, that these engines will go on and on if well maintained so I was just aiming for <100k as long as it’s had yearly oil changes and FSH.

My question is: can someone help me interpret this advert? This is clearly a modified one, but are these enhancements or butchering?! Is it worth considering?

Any advice most welcome- I’m trying to learn as much as I can!

First question would be what exactly was serviced when the roof was ‘serviced’…

I’m not up to speed with it but whenever I looked at a stage 1 tune on an n52 it gave around 10bhp increase. Aftermarket filters aren’t known for adding significant increases again probably sub 10bhp unless someone knows different.

Hello and welcome,

Says in the advert it's an N54 so either a 35i or 35is. If not and it is an N52 I personally would be looking for a more standard one and less miles for less money IMO

I didn't know turbo lag was still a thing to be honest. I can't recall the last car I've driven that i could even tell had a turbo (there have been quite a few).

No decent photos of the interior, none of the engine bay, all exterior phots taken in the dark in in strong shadow! This is hiding something! As mentioned N54/N52?? Personally I think it's over priced for a 2010 30i, yes they seem to be more sought after than the 23i, but that's still 94k for £10k, and it's been played with, a lot by the looks of it.

Just my thoughts, I could be wrong, but I'd go and find a nice example that's not been messed around with.

As others have said it is very strong money for a non standard 3.0 It is an N52 engine not N54. I would look else where

The advert says it has a 7 speed gearbox, therefore it would be an N54 twin turbo, either 35i or 35is.

Basically the seller doesn't know what it is, it has been 'chavved up' and is high miles. One to avoid IMO.
