Trading in early on a PCP

For those who took out the 4 year BMW Select PCP are you going to stick out the 4 years or trade in early? I remember when I did the paperwork at the dealer the finance chappie said he would contact me at 3 years to see if I wanted to change and I didn't have to stick with the 48 months. Is there any advantage trading in a year early on the PCP?

Advantage is you trade early.. Disadvantage could be nil equity.. Given the amazing 20i deal though, as jdm found, equity may be there even now.. Not something that can be said often.

2 year old 2.3i's are retailing for £18000 and their trade value is £16000 now. What was the end value at with the 48 month agreement?

Maniac, I would agree, those on the 20i deal should always be in the black, especially after the first year has passed.

I suppose one advantage is that it saves renewing the warranty at 3 years old, the downside is that you'll be unlikely to get a better deal than the one you are currently on. Are you not thinking about buying it at the end?

Thanks for the replies, the balloon payment will be £12400 at 4 years but I know the mileage will be very low, haven't really decided what I will do if I go the full 4 years but originally was planning on saving 3K a year (already saved for the 1st year) and buying the Zed outright. I then thought why pay BMW 12K, save the money and take out another PCP instead but wandered if better do this at 3 years :|
