Trade in value

Been looking at swapping the Zed for something with more seats and lower running costs (i only really pop to work and back which is a 10 mile round trip)

I have a 2.0L 06 facelift in bright red with 85k

having looked on autotrader it seems that they are being listed for around 5-5.5k, and the garage has offered me 4k as a trade.

Do i try and sell it on autotrader and hope that i get some half decent money for it? whack it on eBay and hope i get offered more than 4k

or strip it off all the good bits (108 wheels, MM gear knob, HIds, Wind defuser, Gap-tech and BMW mats) sell them on here and take the 4k trade in?

I would do exactly what you are saying...strip off ALL the good bits..that's if you have replacements..then part ex it..
Thing is on E bay or private sale you are going to get people out who are going to offer you 4.5 k etc then criticise this and that to justify their low offer etc etc and they really just piss you off..not everyone mind..but the most.

Let's say you go back to your part ex and try get a couple of hundred pounds more to ..seal the deal ( their phrase not yours) then after selling your bits off your car ..realistically you make 450-500 then you have a no hassle deal done..

Remember when buying a new car it is the actual cost of changeover price that matters..

Hope this helps

Yea as mark says above

Strip all the goodies flog them on here and p'x it, depending on what your trading in against look to get money off of what you are buying

Ive seen the car & if it was me i,d go £15 on Ebay classified ad , gets you 30 days & yes there will be messers but ive sold last 3 cars this way .
Leave it as it is & try £5650 & see what interest you get
The wheel,s alone should sell it :D

just been thinking what bits could be taken off without them noticing, MFSW, cup holders

however the cup holders are £30 and the blanking plate is £10 by the time ive bought the covers what the holders are worth 2nd hand it doesnt seem worth it

same with the MFSW a STD is £85 on the bay and with swapping doesnt seem enough profit to make it worth while

Why not take the bits you want to sell, get a part exchange deal with a window of a couple of weeks or more to sell yours. You can then have a go at selling your car with a safety net if you don't succeed. It will also give you confidence to tell dreamers and paupers to bu**er off.
I have found ebay classified adverts nicer than auctions but have generally done ok with auctions too
