Trade in price

All I mean the newness soon wears off - It did with mine anyway! I'd only had the thing a little over a week or two, took it on holiday to Germany last year and put a "ding" in the front bumper. (I thought I knew better than the parking sensors) :x

Don't get me wrong, I love the car and will probably have it for a long time but that new fangled and want to be in it 24/7 has gone. However, like most cars that are chosen with the heart, it's only when you are in that right car at the right time its all good. I still get that feeling in my Disco 3 in a foot of the slippy white stuff - Its the same feeling I get in my zed whacking along on a sunny day with the roof down!

Oh I'm not worried at all, I like going through the spec of my next car and sorting it all out etc :)

at 2 months in I agree that the new-ness wears off but all the Zeds have still felt special right up till I get the next one , which is good because I dont think there will be another model and I really dont know what I would have instead (that I can actually afford)
 
The newness wears off but the car always brings out a smile !
I sold my E85 to a pal and still think it looks good when I see it.

While I don't regret selling my old E85 I look at and often think "why did I bother selling it?" - I'm sure I will feel the same about the E89 in the future, although I can't see me being allowed a change quite so soon , I do have a sneaking fancy for a 35is tho - Pipe dreams!

I think that these cars are a bit out of the ordinary and tend to be looked after by their owners and as such will generally maintain that look good factor.

It's a good point. I'm a classic example. The tiniest thing and I'm off on a no holes barred quest to get it perfect.

Why not - Its always easier to keep any kit looking good than to try an get it looking good after neglect! :thumbsup:
 
I keep my car looking almost as good as it was when purchased......but I'm not sure dealers take that into account at p/ex.....

That's an interesting point. I keep my cars in good condition...and I mean GOOD condition! My dealer knows this - he knows I pay to have it detailed 1 or 2 times a year and wont allow the dealer to wash it, but I'm sure I don't get any real "financial" benefit over someone who puts swirls all over theirs.

Of course, the payback is in the feeling you get when the car is clean and swirlfree etc, but it would be nice for the dealer to appreciate it also!
 
Afraid its a one sided affair at trade in time - Its win at both ends for the dealers!
A goodun is just their trump card when they put it on the forecourt.
