Traction control stuck off

My traction control light has been on permanently for a few days now.

So on the way home in the rain I decided to test if it’s just a light, or if the traction control is actually off.

Floored it from a standing start in the wet, car didn’t move, wheels just spun up.

I’ve held down the DSC button, pumped it a few times, held it down for AGEEES and nothing is turning the traction control back on

Any ideas?

No idea, but interested to find what caused it to be permanently off without triggering ABS lights as well. I always turn traction off and find it a bit of a hassle to hold the button forever or sometimes forget to do it and surprise myself when the car tries to interfere and kill me.

Perhaps the actual button is broken. Leave it broke and drive the car like it should be driven.

...it should still reset to being enabled when you restart the car though even if the button is dead. You need to get the codes read.

The DSC is so intrinsically linked with the ABS though that I would be very curious to know the fault. Lateral acceleration or steering angle sensor maybe??

Got it scanned and steering angle sensor was coming up, among other things... superb!
