Traction Control light Flickers after wheel change

I recently upgraded my 2003 Z4 3.0 from 17" to 18" wheels and after the upgrade I often get the Traction control light flicker when driving, I'm typically not doing anything that could be causing the wheels to slip e.g not hard cornering or wheel spin just driving often at speed and often in a straight line

I thought it might be wheel speed sensor not being happy with the change but the tyres are correct 255/35/18 and 225/40/18 and i beleive 18's where an option so it seems strange...I tried resetting using the tyre deflation sensor but it still happens.

any ideas?

It could just be the release agent, new tyres can be very slippy.

Give it a few miles and see if it improves.

thanks, had the wheels on for a few months now well and truly bedded in...still happens

I've heard, but can't confirm if this is the case, that a reset might be needed to take into account the new rolling radius of your new wheels.

I could be talking gibberish (I often do  ) but I'm sure I read somewhere that a reset can sort that out
