Tracking

Always tinkered and done my own tracking adjustment, simple piece of string (well fishing line)..
But on the Zed front and rear wheel spacing is different, by 26mm wider rear.
So seeing recently folks putting wheel spacers on, i found some 13mm spacers.

I thought put on the front wheels, temporarily, then do string tracking.
Hoping existing bolts will be long enough to hold in place.

I too am a fishing line guy. I've used this one before now (I'm amazed the page is still up it's so long since I actually did one properly!):

First time i did two parallel strings, equidistant from hub centres.
Track width therefore doesn't matter.
Then i did single as you did, but with fronts extra 13mm.

Now thought if i could get both wheels on same width..........
But just realised a problem.............tyres have rim protectors so string doesn't sit on rim.

Just keep the line away from the tyres (parallel lines at each side at centre of wheel height)and use a steel rule to measure the distance to the rims.
Make sure car is on a level surface and suspension is settled evenly.

Was hoping string on rim, forgot about the rim protector on tyres.
Couple of strips of wood, with equal grooves for fishing line parallel to tyres was the first, best method.

So that idea binned, spacers going back.
