Why am i being told by places like Kwick-Fit that they cant do my Z due to it needing to be weighted?? is this becuase they assume they have RFT??

I don't think RFTs come into it. However, a proper alignment (like a Hunter system) will definitely use weights to mimic loaded conditions.

so where can i have this done in the yorkshire area?? just called and spoke with Kwik Fit and they have told me only BMW can do it for me!

BMW's settings are for when the car has passenger, fuel, etc. in it.
I had mine done this weekend at Revolution in Gateshead, they have a hunter system their. You can even watch the settings being changed whilst you wait in the comfort of the store. They have an extra monitor over the window into the workshop, showing the settings.

This sounds too far for you to travel but just to show you don't have to have it done at BMW, I had mine done recently at Demon Tweeks in Wrexham.

This is after failing to get it done at HiQ as they said they couldn't fit my zed on their ramps due to it being too low! It has Eibachs but it seemed rather a lame excuse to me! They didn't say there were any other reasons why they couldn't have done it though.

Nothing wrong with getting BMW to do it. You know they'll have the proper equipment, but the price will be set (around £150 iirc) I used them for my 840 and had no reason to complain. Somewhere like Revolution though may only charge you per adjustment, which usualy works out cheaper.

Had mine done at Revolution a couple of times with no complaints, just debating whether to get it done again as I'm getting 4 new tyres next week.

You could try autotechnic behind meadowhall at Junc 34, im sure they have a hunter system for the alignment chief
