Trackers

I have a sticker on bottom of drivers door, only noticed last week when cleaning and one in the engine bay.
Gives phone number and say something about international data base.
So would a tracker be hiding in the car.
Where might it be?

From memory a 0700 phone number.

No such numbers as 0700, so probably a call diverting service for the prossy who owned your car before

Even if there is a tracker it won't be much use unless you have an account with it. I was pretty sure mine had a tracker when I bought it. Wasted a chunk of effort contacting the dealer it was originally purchased from and a number of tracker companies, (There weren't so many back then.) I gave up and got a new one fitted with a life time deal think it was £900 in 2011. The tech came and fitted it and guess what he handed me the old one he had removed before he left. Any how a good deal as it's still in there and no subsctiption in 11 years :D .

They can fit them in lots of places.

Perhaps it was a condition of insurance when first purchased, owner must have lived in a rough area.

Turns out it was Redditch.

I got a tracker as a Xmas present recently.
It's from rewire security and the app is called GPS Live.

They send out a unit that plugs into the OBD port.
You can setup things like geo fencing zones and be alerted if the car leaves the zone, or if the car was started.

It's a paid for monthly service. About £6.99/month

If you want a tracker just hide an apple tag in your car - no subscription or anything and super accurate... I think android have copied this tech as well
