Trackday

Took the car to a trackday at Pembrey circuit yesterday and had a fantastic time. The car performed faultlessly throughout but the flat out driving showed up 2 weak points on what is considered a high performance car. 1. The brakes suffered from fade after repeated hard use. 2. The seat really lacked support during the hard cornering this car is capable of. The brakes issue I was expecting tbh but the seat issue was truly awful,I was using the steering wheel to hold on as much as I was steering because I was sliding from side to side at every corner

Agree about the seats, and one of my first mods was going to be Recaro Pole Positions - but due to lack of funds it was put on the back-burner, and I've not bothered since.

Not driven Pembrey, so don't know how 'stop-start' it is, but if it's like the old Anglesey circuit then you only ever used 1st-3rd gear between a downhill heavy braking section and the hairpin on a 0.9 mile circuit (53 second lap).

Not had a problem with the brakes on mine, but I don't leave it until the last minute to panic brake, and I only do 20-30 minute sessions (or 2-3 laps of the 'Ring). I did swap out the OEM pads as soon as I got the car though, and have been running EBC Yellowstuff, and now EBC Bluestuff.

I find the Z4MC's seats are way more supportive than the Z3MC's, or have I just put weight on recently? Anyway, there's a very simple, cheap and effective solution to this problem: the CG-Lock, see: http://www.cg-lock.co.uk/app/performance/ I have one in my Z3MC and it works brilliantly, but there's just one problem: it makes me want to pee more

I've tried the CG-Lock, and whilst it holds your hips in place I didn't find it did anything for your upper body.

Since they're a one-size-fits-all, I suppose it depends on your physique. I find the bolsters on the Z4MC's seats are just right for me.

OEM pads are like chocolate fine until they melt.
Oem seats are just crap. THey look great but weigh a ton, are not supportive and bloody unconfortable. Top Recaros ar really expensive though...

A pair of Pole Positions (as long as you go for the cheap cloth option) will probably set you back no more than you could sell your OEM ///M seats for.

Alternatively, you see them on ebay for £200-£400 a seat - and you only really need 1!

its what I was thinking,I only need 1 but dont want to buy blind, hard to find any motorsport shops stocking stuff like this in Wales.

My best friends company, if you quote my name (Andy McLaren) he may be able to do a deal

Sorry I'll get out the M forum with my none M car :(

I find the seats are really very comfortable when driving politely, but the support they offer is rubbish with more spirited driving and on the track. I have the CG Lock too and it does help, but it's no substitute for proper seats with a harness.
