Trackday Videos

Afternoon folks,

Well I'm having a frankly miserable summer with my M out of action and facing a costly engine rebuild having not completed its first trackday under my ownership.

So to cheer me up, would all you lovely people who track their cars like to post up your videos so I can enjoy some track time vicariously though you!

Cheers in advance!

where's the tumbleweed smilie?!
Sorry to hear about your motor ed, sounds unlucky. I think mine must be rolling past 50 days at least with no issues (other than my own doing  )
Hopefully this might cheer you up a bit, almost collecting and then after passing basically crashing.... a citroen C2 :D
In my defence my car has been 'tricky' to drive fast since I had a geo and tyre change. I blamed the handling on the old stored yoko a048, turns out the rear camber was set to a degree over what I asked :headbang: It was a bit confusing for a while to be honest, it felt like the dangerous thing it was when I had the rear previously set to -2.5 but it didn't cross my mind it had been done wrong.

Only a few this year :x Combe was good last week (glad I haven't binned the ac yet!) but no vid.
Hope to see you out there one day in the M

 I was quietly resigning myself to my misery before your post Tom! Glad to hear yours has done so many trackdays without major issue - gives me hope once this is all sorted mine will be similarly reliable!

Fingers crossed the issue has been isolated to a flattened lifter and corresponding scored cam lobe, but diagnosis not fully confirmed just yet (stuck an oversize shim in and the noise persisted for 2-3 days, then randomly just stopped?! The plan now being to remove the shim and see if the clatter comes back)

I'll sit down and watch those videos this afternoon, thanks! I'd be dead keen for a trackday with you once mine is sorted - will keep you posted! Have you done Donington before?

Watch the GTE onboards from Spa WEC quali. Or Di Resta and Laurent through Eau Rouge with their nuts out: https://www.facebook.com/167370269001/posts/10158607237244002/?vh=e

The three-sprint GT WCE event at Misano was pretty good too. All free on YouTube. The spread of driving ability in that series appears to be something like you’d get at a track day!

Bizarre. Hope you get some good news and a resolution to it.

Must have been there about 10 times now, one of my favourite UK tracks, (but I haven't been further north than Oulton) .
As and when you get things sorted let's try organise something there if you like. Any excuse works for me!

Yeah it's bizarre - on the bright side least it's not a spun bearing - that would have been far worse!

Lol any excuse works forme too, will be in touch soon as I'm back and run in! I did donny with a couple of mates in July - I was booked on with my car but for obvious reasons didn't take it - they let me drive their e92 m3 and M4 respectively - hell of a fun day, and I'm in agreement with you - it's a hell of a track! Four wheel drifting the last left at the bottom of cranes before the old hairpin braking zone is something else!

Nurburgring ones will have to do, as I stopped recording stuff quite a while back, and not much from UK tracks as most were taken on VHS cameras and the quality was always terrible (see bottom).
