Track + woots + beedub = day of epic fun. (new pics page 5)

Beedub, I'm in the process of saving my hard-earned Oz Dollars with a view to fitting a SC once I'm back in the UK next year, so I'll definitely be looking to you for advice. If I want to go straight to the stage II kit, how do I persuade ESS to sell this to me - am I right in thinking they will only sell this as an install at an approved fitting location? Does Simpson's count?

the stage 2 kit is now official and rated at 525hp...... it still runs 7/8lbs of boost, some a little more, mine runs alittle more..... simpson were simply mind blowing when it came to fitting this kit, i gave them a brief and told them i wanted this to look like it came from the factory, and boy did the deliver, they really had to deal wih my perfectionist mentality and it really paid off, if you get this done at simpson you'll be delighted, they have only done 1 z4m before.... mine.... it looks like ess have upped the price however.

if you really are going to do this id really urge you to come down and spend some real time with me and the car and ill go through every single detail and weather depending ake you for a run in the car. budget for a gauge set as well as you really need to see what the motor is doing.... this will be another 1k easily......
 
Thanks Beedub. I've been doing a bit of reading (between trips to the beach and the pub) but talking to you about your experience and the learning curve you went through would be invaluable. Since you won't sell me your car, I'm determined to build the coupe version :P

got a couple questions for you if thats ok,

for starters your ap racing bbk is the UK version I assume? seeing is that is where you are located. I have heard the north american version is done by stillen and is utter garbage.

would you say it is worth it to get my hands on a true genuine UK kit? perhaps you could let me know where you purchased yours from.

secondly what made you choose this over a brembo kit?

finally, how do you like the kit?

yup proper Coventry produced AP BBK, you can pick these up second hand quite readily on the CSL forum.... i was REALLy lucky and picked up these used but with only 500 miles use, they are without doubt one of my fave mods to a car EVER.... they are insane!! woots also experienced them hauling down my car from 110mph in a very short distance, awesome things, i love them!
They get a Proper workout on my car and still look brand new!! I need a fluid change now so looking forward to getting them back to full efficiency!!

the knocked up stillen kits are shite imo!!

thank you for the very prompt reply, i would have no qualms about buying new, just have to find a place in the uk that sells them. there are only one version for the m coupe/roadsters correct? unlike the brembo kits that have eitehr 4 or 6 piston calipers, and different sizes.

these AP racing are one size front and one size rear? black with yellow or red with white?

any reason you chose these over brembo? thanks for the heads up on the still made garbage

ps. what is this CSL forum you speak of?
 
Yeah the brakes are pretty good, if it wasn't for the fact I knew you had a bbk I would've been a bit scared coming up to that bend after the long straight....
