Just a quick mention to those who are interested in track day pads. I've tried to make the stock brakes work for track day use and wanted to avoid spending 550 on rs29 pads (although granted they are amazing!).
So I started with ebc bluestuff all round, great pads however I was getting some fade and heavy wear on track. Decided to fit brake cooling front and rear, which worked a treat! Cooling significantly improved, fade improved substantially to the point it no longer became a problem until 20mins into a stint.
However, bluestuff just didn't feel consistent enough, partially due to the crappy single piston floating calipers we have.
So I recently tried the EBC RP-1 track day pads at the front at a trackday at Snettetton, and the difference is quite wide compared to bluestuff. Better feel, stronger braking performance, consistent, but most of all the brakes are now more predictable/intuitive. The braking performance from high speed is immense and inspires much more confidence. I didn't get any fade and it doesn't take long to bring them up to temp, a few touches of the brake pedal and all good.
Overall very impressed with the rp-1 and with fronts running at £190ish its very well priced.
Hope others may find this helpful (BTW I have no affiliation with ebc, if they sucked I'd say so!)
