Track control arms

I did on a TT, as it was about to fail and then the wheel collapses into the arch

Needs wheel alignment after fitting, especially on the adjustable arms, but it is only a bolt either end of the arm (on a TT)

Hi,

I just had mine replaced and whilst I didn't do it personally I did watch the mechanic do it. If you've got access to a ramp then I would say it's fairly straight forward although you will need a very long reach socket wrench to do the inside end removal. You have to have the wheel supported as well otherwise the whole lot would just collapse.
Alignment needs to be done afterwards as the camber and toe will have gone way off and having seen the guy wrestling to get it back to where it needs to be I recommend you get someone else to do the job!!!

Cheers

Thanks for the reply, going to do it myself although I haven't been able to find much info on tinterweb regarding doing this job, one thing I did find is that the diff needs to de moved slightly in order to get the inboard bolt out.
Anyway BMW quoted £650 to do it and the arm itself from GSF cost £45 so for me it's a no brainier! Will get the alignment done by a garage.
