TPMS

Giving my car a clean today and I notice that my car has the standard flexible rubber valves all round. I thought the TPMS valves were solid metal?

I'm getting no warnings and all tyres show as green in the idrive when doing a check so presumably it works?

Any ideas?

TPMS as a sender/psi readout was in later model cars. Early cars used ABS rather than TPMS to detect flats so it would depend on the model year you have?

Actually maybe it does use the abs as I don't get a pressure readout only a green tyre in the idrive.

I believe the change was only made 2014 onwards? Meaning if you change your wheels you need sensors in them too as some have found out.

A 2012 pre facelift will not be effected.

There are no TPMS part numbers listed for pre-03/2014 Z4s
