I've got an 07 with the TPMS units in the valve stems. I've heard that it is necessary to use the oem caps or the sending units will not function properly. Fact or Fiction? I'm at work so I can't pull a cap and check. TIA

I haven't sectioned one to see the insides yet but they look like genuine (UGHly) plastic valve caps to me.
There's a metal incompatability issue with some caps and the TPMS stems that causes them to lock to each other - do your research prior to swapping - the older pre TPMS BMW aftermarket logo caps have caused problems - I believe the threads are brass on the older ones.Incompatible said:I've got an 07 with the TPMS units in the valve stems.
