that's what EVO thought too...ga41 said:That's not really the point though, is it? It's a car that you can have fun without needing big power, big speeds.

So not only is it under-powered, it doesn't compensate in other areas. It got destroyed by a Megane 265 Trophy around Bedford (5 secs slower). You'd expect it to be a lot slower on the straights because of the power deficit, but the disappointing thing was it was a lot slower in the corners. The comments.... "we so wanted the BRZ to deliver, to make a stand for rear-drive, but it misses by a mile. It's not agile and adjustable on track, and it's not much fun, either."
On the road versus the same Megane, 370Z and Mx5 it came last too. Comments "I hate to say it but the BRZ feels like it needs more power or a wet surface to fulfil its obvious and tantalising potential".
It's a big mistake to bring a £25k SPORTS car out and leave it so under-powered relative to its natural competitors. If you do you need to make sure the fun is very accessible and according to EVO at least, it isn't unless you are at ten-tenths on the effort scale.
This is sooooo annoying - I wanted the GT86/BRZ to succeed but doesn't sound like they've got the dynamics sorted. I could've forgiven the limited power if they got that right (as with MX5's, a lack of power can easily be resolved with a turbo), but if evo are slating it then that can't be a good thing. The size of the car and overall package just seemed right too. Dammit.Adamski said:original guvnor said:EVO's conclusion on the front cover "2000 miles in the new BRZ - and why it's not good enough"

This man talks sense
yes still auto, but with paddles. was the only car they could get.ga41 said:The video Evo shot was with an automatic... Is the car in the article still an auto??
Regarding laptimes, it's got PRIUS tires for God's sake and not only that but the rear tires are thinner than even the front tires on Z4's. What did you expect? As for the feeling it gives you, i have not read the article so cannot comment.![]()

As a package it doesn't add up at £25k.
