Towed. The B**tards.

Parked in town today (Sept 2nd), went back to the car after half an hour shopping and found the car was gone. Not nicked, towed.

Given the signs, I thought I was OK. But not. My interpretation was that anyone with a disabled pass could park at any time, anyone else could park at any time too but if it was during Mon-Fri daytime, for a max of 4 hours. Reading it again, I see what they mean, and see my mistake. I've had some difficult stuff going on recently, so perhaps wasn't engaging the ol' brain as much as normal.

Still, being £260 lighter for a simple mistake and leaving the car there for less than 30 minutes seems a bit harsh.

Oh well, no beers for me this week.

PS. That gormless guy standing in the picture is NOT me! (nor anyone I know!)

Bad luck mate, I can see how you made that mistake... I had to double take as well! £260... harsh!

Not only that, but they make you walk down a 500m underground tunnel to get to the pound at Park Pane. Unfortunately since the tunnel is accessible to anyone it is now known between me and Mrs F as the "tunnel of piss". It seriously stinks - which, to be honest, puts you in even more of a bad mood before you have to deal with the jobsworth behind the counter.

To add injury to insult they did some damage to one of my alloys - so they'll have to pay for that.

Related to Simon Cowell by the look of his trousers.

Sorry to hear about this, no wonder out of town shopping with plentiful/free parking has become so popular

That man in the picture....   And what a bummer about your wheels, it's the inconvenience sometimes that's so bad.

They should have put that sign over the regular sign. Bastards.

Thing was, that sign expired the day *before* - so that also made me think I was in the clear!

Ah well, you live and learn.

surely if it said from the 1st of Sept to the 1st of Sept and they did you on the 2nd of Sept then that can't be right.
I would write a letter (it tells you where to appeal somewhere on the receipt you get) complaining and pointing out the time of parking suspension stipulated on the sign had expired when you parked there. Include a photo of the sign and you should be able to get your cash back surely. I can't see how they have a leg to stand on?

I would persue it since the sign clearly states that if is from 8:00am to 6pm on the 1st of september only, so they have illegally clamped and towed your vehicle. You are in the right and they are in the wrong and have photographic evidence.

If they don't let up take them to the small claims court to get your £260 back.

That sign means that ten bays are suspended because they want to park a crane there for the day, it's not really related to what happened the day after.
